New Years Eve

Out with the old, and in with the new right? I guess it's a time for reflection and resolution making.

How will you be spending your NYE?

This year (for the first time ever) I will be spending my NYE with my local Sangha, meditating and listening to various speakers talk about purification. Should be interesting. Usually, (I have to be honest) I get pulled along to a house party where I drink too much and make silly conversation.

  1. That sounds like a lovely, peaceful New Year's Eve. I have a few friends doing something similar -it seems like the end of the decade has provided a real base from which to reflect.

    Enjoy your Sangha!
Keep up the excellent work -love your blog!

  2. I will be spending New Years with two other couples and their teen/tween children and my family (1 tween and 1 teen). Some day I would like to try a more meditative NYE, this will be lots of good food and some good wine and good people.....I guess that is one of my questions as I learn more about the "middle way" and mindfulness and meditation, much of the day to day modern world is not about having lots of time for reflection and yet I sooo want it woven into my life...how to have both? A question for reflection in the New Year.....

  3. I was hoping to watch the Blue Moon rise at 5 pm and spend some time reflecting both on the old ways of 2009 and the new possibilities ahead for 2010.

    Its Cloudy!
